Blue Cheese Dressing from the Brew Pub. It never hurts to ask – another score from a restaurant we frequent. The local brew pub has long been a favorite. Ron and I love their wings – Traditional with blue cheese dressing. When I asked Tara for the recipe, she laughed, but she came back later with the recipe for the secret sauce. This is how we make it at home, except that we sub yogurt for some or all of the sour cream.

I remember telling one of the wait staff that I thought this dressing was relatively light. They laughed, Ha, light? But after Tara gave me the recipe I realized that the base of this dressing is cottage cheese. Lighter, yes, than it could be, but still incredibly rich, with the generous amount of blue cheese and the sour cream and mayo. Need I say that it’s delicious? I like to keep a batch in the fridge because I’m much more likely to snack on carrots and celery sticks if I have this Blue Cheese Dressing from the Brew Pub to dip them in.

I haven’t perfected this recipe though – I still ask for more dressing to go if we take some wings home, because theirs is much better than what I’ve come up with at home working from what Tara shared with me. Do you think she could have left out a secret ingredient?
