This is a hearty, warming, chunky stew. I use Madras curry powder which is quite mild, but everyone has their favorite curry powder and I’m sure this dish would be just as wonderful, whatever your preference.

The garlic and capers in this vinaigrette bring a pungency that enhances greens, especially bitter greens, so be sure to tear and scatter some pieces of radicchio in your salad if you have some on hand.
This lentil salad isn’t much to look at, but the Dijon and red wine vinegar flavors are bright, and the crunch of the celery complements the earthiness of the lentils.
These could be ginger snaps, I suppose, but they always puff up into soft, luscious cookies for me – and they’re potently gingery. I don’t miss the snap.
Who doesn’t like stir-fried veg? And whatever you have in the refrigerator will do.
