Mustard Dill Sauce is in love with salmon – roasted salmon, Salmon Cakes, gravlax, frozen salmon burgers… However you prepare your salmon, this sauce will make it even better.
I adapted this recipe from a recipe that my friend Lisa shared with me years ago. It was from a blog called freshfish4u.com, and was posted along with a recipe for making gravlax at home by curing fresh salmon with lots of fresh dill and vodka. It was delicious, but I can’t access it on the blog any longer (pages are forbidden?!). Luckily I had copied the recipe for this Mustard Dill Sauce, because it’s been in rotation in my kitchen ever since.
Mustard Dill Sauce
Ingredients
- ¼ cup Dijon mustard
- 1 t dried mustard powder
- 2 T granulated sugar
- 2 T distilled white vinegar
- 1 T dried dill weed
- ½ cup grapeseed oil
Instructions
- Blend – Mix together the mustards, sugar, white vinegar, and dried dill. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then whisk in the grapeseed oil.
- Let the flavors meld – Let sit for at least one hour to fully hydrate the dill and allow the flavors to meld.
