Prep the veg - Destem and trim the green beans, as necessary. Smash the garlic.
Mix the sauce - Add the oyster sauce, tamari, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper to a small bowl. Whisk to combine.
Sauté the veg - Add a small amount of olive oil to a hot pan. Add the green beans and smashed garlic, and cook for about 5 minutes or until the beans are crisp-tender. Don't stir any more often than you need to - you want a slight char, but you don't want to scorch the beans.
Finish - Add the sauce to the pan, and stir to coat the beans with the sauce. Cook for about 2 minutes more, the remove from the heat.
